Created to mark 20 years since the first release of the original album, the triple disc version of Maya sold out at unexpected speed, leaving many fans unfulfilled. After years of requests, Disco Gecko Recordings present a new edition, limited to 1,000 copies and not available to either download or stream.
Originally released in February 1994 on the Planet Dog label, Maya reached No1 in the independent charts in the UK and is considered by many to be one of the pioneering classics of global electronica.
The first disc of the triple disc version contains the original album, which mixes beautiful textures, soaring melodies and slamming grooves with sounds and inspirations from the far corners of the world.
The second and third discs feature unreleased alternative mixes of the album, including the original full 22 minute mix of Shanti; live recordings, such as Sunspot, recorded for the John Peel Sessions; and remixes by Temple Hedz, Eat Static, Veloce and 100th Monkey & Mr Noisy.
